BSNL Launches Limited Fixed Mobile Telephony, Ditto TV Service

In a bid to meet competition from private telecom operators, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam
Limited (BSNL) Monday announced mobile TV service 'Ditto TV' & limited fixed mobile telephony,
an app that virtually turns mobiles into cordless phone working in sync with landlines within
home premises.

BSNL claimed the latest limited Fixed Mobile Telephony (FMT) service is "different" from the
contentious Fixed Mobile Telephony service it announced last year but was forced to put on
hold following a vehement opposition from cellular operators.
"The earlier service allowed customers on roaming in India and overseas to connect their
landlines through mobile and make calls through them...But this service is restricted within
the home premises," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava told PTI.
Shrivastava said he did not anticipate any objection to this "restricted" service. To avail the
service, customers will need BSNL's landline, mobile, broadband connectivity.
"Landline subscribers find it inconvenient to fetch the contact details from mobiles and then
dial the number on fixed line...This service will turn mobile handset into a cordless device within
the home premises, which means that customers can still avail the attractive landline tariffs of
BSNL like free calls on Sundays and night time calling," Shrivastava pointed out.

A BSNL statement said that the "smartphone needs to download the app and with connectivity
with BSNL broadband modem (say on Wi-Fi), customer can receive and also be able to make
outgoing calls...on smartphone handsets. This service is in no way linked with mobile operator
service or customer SIM in mobile handset," the statement clarified.
The limited FMT service can be availed as add-on service, the statement said adding that
separate telephone number will be provided to customer to avail this service. Limited FMT
call charges will be as applicable for basic service, it pointed out.
On the mobile TV offering, the company said that BSNL mobile users need to download Ditto TV
app from the play store, install it on mobile, register and then start using the service, which is
available on subscription basis at Rs 20 per month and is also bundled with Data Special
Tariff Voucher for recharge of Rs 223.
Ditto TV is a mobile TV service wherein subscribers can view live TV for over 80 channels
including HD channels. The service has multiscreen option as it can be viewed on both iOS
and Android devices, that is, mobile, tablet, TV or on PC.

Sundar Pichai Calls for Entry-Level Smartphones as Cheap as Rs. 2,000

Google's India-born chief Sundar Pichai Thursday said the prices of entry-level smartphones
in India need to come down further to around $30 to improve access to the Internet and
 digital services for people.
Pichai, who was speaking at his alma mater IIT-Kharagpur, said the focus is also on areas like
local language support and improving connectivity in India as the country becomes a global player
in the 'digital economy'.
"I would love to see cheaper smartphones, entry-level smartphones. I think to really we need to
bring the prices down even more, maybe at $30 level (about Rs. 2,000) for India for entry level
smartphones," he said addressing an audience of 3,500 students and teachers.
In 2014, Google had launched its 'Android One' programme, partnering with handset makers,
to launch high-quality, yet affordable Android devices for consumers in emerging markets like
India. A few handsets were launched with partners like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice.
The devices launched that time were priced at Rs. 6,399 onwards, but since then many more
affordable smartphones with better specifications have hit the market. Currently, there are
smartphones available even for sub-Rs. 1,000 but most of the aspirational devices are priced
above Rs. 3,000.
Pichai said the company has also been able to roll out many programmes for Digital India
through "effective public-private partnerships".
He cited examples like partnership with RailTel for offering Wi-Fi services at railway stations and
with NPCI for digitising payments. When asked about by when India would be able to catch up
with China on the digital front, Pichai said he is confident that India will be a global player in the
digital economy.
"I think I am absolutely, with full certainty, convinced that India will be a global player in the digital economy and it will be competitive with any country in the world in the digital economy. We have all the foundation," he said.
He added that the startups in India, that is building products for India and the world, will ensure
that happens. Stating that connectivity is "extraordinarily important", Pichai said Google is also
working on a number of projects like Internet Saathi to educate people on Internet, especially in
rural areas, as well as to get them online.
Besides, Google is also working on making its services available in as many local Indian languages as possible. "English is spoken only by a small segment of the overall population. So just getting Google to work in other languages is a big focus".

"We have made progress today in Android, with search, we support many languages but we
want to do all that better so that it works even in rural situations with the right dialects and so
on," he said.

Scientists: Microchip Implants Will Be With Us By 2017

The secret plan to monitor the public by use of microchip implants is now becoming more and more obvious. GPS, tracking, contactless and eye recognition at airports are all tell-tale signs that we are moving towards the final phase, which is the microchip implant.
The secret plan to monitor the public by use of microchip implants by 2017 is now becoming more and more obvious.

NBC news recently predicted that all Americans would have a microchip implant by 2017. Even more recently, Australia had become the first country to begin microchipping its public. If the Orwellian nightmare predicted by George Orwell is true, then it looks like may come to fruition in 2017.
The Express reports: RFID stands for radio frequency identification, and uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects, including an implanted chip.
A growing conspiracy theory claims we will all soon be chipped through vaccination programmes and at birth, or be forced to have a contactless microchip instead of money.
As with all conspiracies, there are variations on the theory and they vary in extremeness.
At the bottom end is the claim that world governments will phase out cash so the only way you can buy anything is with an implanted chip that can then be used to ID and monitor you.
Next up is the theory that the chips will be secretly implanted into children and some adults through vaccination programmes.
The most extreme claim ties in with religious conspiracy theorists.
They have said the implanted RFID chip will stand for the Mark of the Beast as referred to in the Book of Revelation.
Again, all humans will be forced to take an implant, so those in power can know our every detail and monitor our every move.
But, it's those in power which is the scary part.
According to the mark of the beast theory the Illuminati, or New World order (NWO), as it is also known - an alleged secret organisation that actually runs all the governments - plans to implant us all.
The theory is summed up on the nowtheendbegins.com website.
In an article about the conspiracy, it said: "What is presented on this page is not fantasy, or our idea of something that could happen in the near future.
"Every item here will tell you about advances in technology that either is in place, or in the end stages of development and about to be released.
"Every item here will show you not only the plan, but the actual tools that the NWO has in place to track you right now at this very moment to monitor you, and control you."
It said it would be a worldwide system that collects and gathers information, and ties it in with personal records of all kinds.
It added: "This will culminate in a chip, implanted in your body, that will personally connect you to the system.
"Today you see that information is already being collected when you use your debit card, the loyalty card at the supermarket, your car has computer chips that enable it to function - everything is controlled by a chip that feeds the information to various databases around the world. Even the Internet itself is part of this system.
"We have become a worldwide, connected society whose every move is being tracked and catalogued.
For now, it's all voluntary, and the New World Order has to reply on making cool devices lure us into wanting to be tracked - iPhone, smart phones, RFID chips - but the day is coming where you will be forced to have a chip put inside your body.
When that day comes, you will know who the Antichrist is because he will be the one in power over the whole world.
Accepting that chip will mean you side with the Antichrist, and against God."
So what is the reality?
Scientists have experimented with RFID implants for several years.
In 1998 the British scientist Kevin Warwick had an implant to open doors and switch on lights, which was removed nine days later.
By March 2009 British scientist Mark Gasson had an advanced glass capsule RFID device surgically implanted into his left hand.
His implant was infected with a computer virus, and he used it to infect other computers.
There implants are used to locate missing pets, and there has been much debate about the value of using them to find missing people or fugitives, but with that comes all the concerns over privacy and repression.
The top 10 conspiracy theories
But a cancer risk has also been identified with the chips so there are no overt plans to roll out the system.
A debunking website, thatsnonsense.com has rubbished all the conspiracy theories surrounding RFID chips.
The website said online rumours are circulating that all American citizens will be microchipped with RFID by the year 2017 and this has been confirmed by NBC News.
It said: "The theory that the American government is actively looking to implant Americans with RFID tracking chips to help control the population is a long-running conspiracy that is persistent as it is consistently baseless, lacking any evidence whatsoever.
"We’ve written about these theories numerous times, including the claims that the Obamacare mandated that all citizens be microchipped by March 2012, (a later version claimed March 2013, and then March 2014), the claims that RFID chips were being put into Ebola vaccinations, and that all babies born in Europe would be micro chipped by May 2014.
"Needless to say, none of these rumours turned out to be true, and this latest incarnation of the microchipping conspiracy theory is equal as baseless."
It's said the rumour appeared to be sparked by a speculative NBC piece from 2007, which looked at the possible future of fingerprinting, iris recognition and microchips to identify people.

This 9 Year-Old Coder Is Better At Programming Than Professionals

Programming has become so much popular these days that even younger generations has adapted to it and now this girl Anvita Prashant Telang from Pune, India has set a record by winning “Doodle for Google” 2016 contest and proved the whole world that even young kids can do programming like professionals does. With the growth of technology, programming is growing as well and it is on the tip of everyone’s tongue.

There have been many events where young hackers are competing with other professionals programmers and winning various events regarding hacking smartphones and stuff like finding bugs in social networking websites.
From recent news, a young girl has set the record for being the youngest developer to attend Apple’s WWDC 2016. And from speculations, this girl is better than most of the professionals at coding.
This year an event took place by the Apple CEO Tim Cook known as the prestigious WWDC event and Anvitha Vijay from Australia is one of the recipients of 350 scholarships handed over by the Apple CEO Tim Cook at this event. She is just 9 years old and she is the youngest iOS developer at Apple. The shocking fact is that Anvitha is doing what even professionals find difficult and Anvitha codes better than most of the adults.
Smartkins Animals is the first app created by her and the reason she created that app is to help her sister identify animals quickly. What this app does is teach young kids to identify animals within a very short period of time before the interview her app was downloaded few hundreds of time already.
Recently she was selected as the youngest developer at Apple and when she was asked how she feels she said “It was like a dream to be here and meet so many people,” Anvitha said. “I’ve just touched the tip of the iceberg in coding, there’s so much to learn” and when asked about Tim Cook she said “he’s really good,” and “really nice.”
